Introducing the Kim Bishie Golden Award

Kim Bishie
It is with both sadness and pride that Pye-Barker Fire & Safety introduces the Kim Bishie Golden Award, an award which will be presented annually to an individual that gives entirely of himself/herself to the company with unmatched dedication and outstanding effort. The award is in honor of a valued member of the Pye-Barker family who passed away unexpectedly on January 4th, 2020 due to health complications.

Kim Bishie is described by her coworkers and supervisors as “irreplaceable”. She worked in the fire protection industry for decades, remaining through two acquisitions and becoming an essential part of the Pye-Barker team when the Savannah, Georgia branch was purchased in 2007. She not only handled all of the office responsibilities for the thriving PBFS Savannah branch, including billing, walk-in customers, collections, and phone calls, but also managed the affairs for one of Pye-Barker’s national accounts. Additionally, Kim played a supervisory role for PBFS Charleston, regularly assisting with billing and office management for that branch in addition to her own responsibilities.

Kim was known as being firm but fair. She gave more than her all every day on the job and put the company’s interests ahead of her own. She loved being part of the Pye-Barker team and will be sorely missed by all who knew and interacted with her on a regular basis.

In her honor, Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is proud to introduce the Kim Bishie Golden Award. Every year an employee who has shown marked loyalty, demonstrated a tireless work ethic, and gives his or her all to help Pye-Barker succeed, whether in the office or field, will be chosen as the recipient of this award. In addition to the award itself, the chosen individual will receive a monetary gift of $10,000 as a thank you for his/her dedication. The first Kim Bishie Golden Award will be bestowed upon Kim’s family.

It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to this valued employee and cherished friend. Pye-Barker will always feel her absence and remember her through this award in coming years. May she rest in peace.
