PBFS Austin is hiring technicians. Any industry experience is a plus, but candidates with at least some technical experience can be trained. The following will give a candidate a significant advantage:

  • NICET certification in relevant fields

Austin, TX - Fire Sprinkler Repair Technician

PBFS Austin has openings for two fire sprinkler repair technicians.

Specific Job Description: Applicants must be knowledgeable and experienced in the installation, service, modification, and repair of:

  • Wet fire sprinkler systems including the associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads
  • Dry fire sprinkler systems including the associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads
  • OS&Y valves including the installation of a repacking kit
  • Metal and plastic (such as PVC and CPVC) pipe
  • Air compressors and associated controls
  • Fire pumps and associated controls
  • Anti-freeze loops
  • Pre-action systems
Must be able to read fire sprinkler installation plans.  Any license from the State of Texas Fire Marshal is a plus.

General Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly work extended business hours or hours outside of normal business hours, such as late at night, early in the morning, and weekends.
  • Must be able to regularly accept and work emergency service and repair calls from the dispatcher outside of normal business hours including late at night, early in the morning, and weekends.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision in a variety of facilities including large, multi-level facilities.

Austin, TX - Fire Alarm Repair Technician

PBFS Austin has multiple openings for fire alarm repair technicians.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Must have a current Fire Alarm (FAL) license from the State of Texas Fire Marshal. Any other license from the State of Texas Fire Marshal is a plus.
  • Prefer background / experience as an electrician.
  • Significant knowledge and experience independently troubleshooting and repairing fire alarm system faults such as ground faults, underground fire alarm wiring, open notification appliance circuits (NAC), invalid reply, and short circuits on the signaling line circuit (SLC) loop.
  • Significant knowledge and experience independently troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a variety of fire alarm panels and devices from manufacturers such as Silent Knight, Firelite, ADEMCO, Potter, FCI, EST, Vigilant, Secutron, and Mircom.
  • Significant knowledge and experience independently programming a variety of fire alarm panels from manufacturers such as Silent Knight, Firelite, ADEMCO, Potter, FCI, EST, Vigilant, Secutron, and Mircom.
  • Significant knowledge and experience independently troubleshooting, repairing, and installing wireless devices including wireless dialers.

Austin, TX - Kitchen Hood Suppression Installation Technician

PBFS Austin has an immediate opening for a Kitchen Hood Suppression Installation Technician. Specific Job Requirements:

  • Must have a current Portable Fire Extinguishers (FEL-B) and Kitchen Cooking Systems (FEL-K) license from the State of Texas Fire Marshal. Any other license from the State of Texas Fire Marshal is a plus.
  • Able to independently complete the inspection of 5 to 7 Ansul, Amerex, Badger, Kidde, and/or Buckeye kitchen cooking systems (“hood”) per 8-hour workday according to manufacturer specifications and per all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to independently complete the installation of an Ansul R-102 or Amerex KP 3-gallon kitchen hood system in less than 8 hours according to manufacturer specifications and per all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to independently complete the installation of an Ansul R-102 or Amerex KP 6-gallon kitchen hood system in less than 16 hours according to manufacturer specifications and per all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to independently repair Ansul, Amerex, Badger, Kidde, and/or Buckeye kitchen hoods according to manufacturer specifications and per all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to provide Company with current kitchen cooking system training certifications from Ansul and Amerex.
  • Able to independently inspect fire extinguishers in large, multi-level facilities.

Houston, TX - Scheduling Administrator

PBFS Houston is seeking a Scheduling Administrator to work with their office staff. This position coordinates customer service requests, from initiation to service completion by scheduling and dispatching technicians and helping to ensure technical service work is completed on time and according to customer expectations. He or she assesses team performance and makes adjustments as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. To be successful in this position, the employee will:

  • Maintain communication with Sales and Install teams and our customers
  • Perform installation backlog management
  • Provide guidance and advance notice to Install Team Manager of any potential job failures or profit loss
  • Coordinate Installation Schedule including reschedules
  • Keep track of installation material needs and request orders when necessary
This is a full time position. Good proficiency with Microsoft products is required.

New Braunfels, TX - Scheduling Administrator

PBFS New Braunfels is seeking a Scheduling Administrator for their pre-engineered division to work with their office staff. The following traits are required of applicants:

  • Maintain relationships with Contractors and Fire Marshals

  • This is a full time position. Good proficiency with Microsoft products is required
Extensive experience is not necessary, it is more important that applicants be team players that can follow Management’s direction. This is not a service manager job, it is specifically a scheduling position.

San Antonio, TX - Fire Alarm Technician

Pye-Barker is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician for our San Antonio, TX branch. This position requires the ability to install, service, repair/replace Fire Alarm products and inspect Fire Alarm systems for established customers on a scheduled basis. Job duties include, but are not limited to, installation, servicing, inspecting, and testing alarm systems to the prescribed standards, performing on-site emergency troubleshooting, programming and repairs of our customers’ fire alarm systems, identifying code and non-conformance issues and preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.

PBFS Waco is seeking a kitchen fire suppression system installer helper. Ideal candidates will be able to install kitchen fire systems manufactured by Ansul and Pyro-Chem at minimum. Knowledge of Range Guard, Amerex, and Buckeye are a plus, but not required. Texas Kitchen Cooking Systems License (Type K) is greatly preferred.
